Ride The Lightning

I grew up with music constantly playing 24/7 (and it still is). From Jimi Hendrix to Tupac, I would learn about new artists, bands and genres thanks to my parents. Music has definitely had an influence on who I am and my style.

Today, I showed my musical background with a Metallica Ride the Lightening shirt from 1994. I also wore a black Alexander Wang jacket with black Saint Laurent jeans and white Stan Smiths to bring out the graphic on the shirt and bring contrast to my outfit.

Wearing vintage rock/rap tees has always been cool (at least to me) but over the past year, it has become a must have for your wardrobe. Brands like Balenciaga have used vintage style shirts in the past and Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo has added Slayer, Megadeath and Metallica concert tees to his collection. So, if you ever get tired of wearing basic tee’s and wanna switch it up, go to your local thrift store or eBay to find a shirt with your favorite album or artist on it.

Western

After traveling around for the start of January, I’m finally back in NYC. For me, traveling around and exploring new places is important. You learn about people, new styles, history and become inspired by the surroundings.

For this outfit, I was inspired by a western look with a modern/street twist. The blue denim shirt was the focal point of the outfit. I also wore suede boots and a tan overcoat to continue with the theme and black-waxed denim to add in my personal style. Let me know what you think!
