YZY SZN

After months of waiting for them to release… I finally got my hands on the Yeezy boosts. Many of you know (if you don’t well now you know) how much Kanye has had an influence on my life/style, so I had to do something special on todays #SundayStyle.

These are my favorite three outfits I have worn this week with the Yeezys. Mind you it felt like it was negative 100 outside in NYC so layering was necessary to survive. In the first outfit, I paired the boosts with a maroon Margiela sweater, layered with a grey John Elliott shirt and green I Love Ugly Zespy pants. I wanted to use earth tone colors in this outfit to flow with the grey suede on the boosts.

In the next two outfits, I wanted to stick to a more minimalistic, layered, winter look. I wore a black ASOS bomber over a grey Alternative Apparel hoodie, layered with a grey John Elliott shirt and green I Love Ugly Zespy pants. These pants are extremely comfy, have an amazing fit and are a great alternative to Fear of God sweatpants. In the last outfit, I wore primarily all black, pulling the zipper up on the hoodie to show the layers and change up the traditional way of wearing a hoodie.

To me, the boosts look the best with earth tone colors or a very minimalistic outfit since it is 99% grey suede and has a military/Chelsea boot aesthetic to it. After wearing these all week, they are definitely my favorite shoe to rock. The comfort, silhouette and color palate do it for me. What was your favorite outfit? Let me know in the comments down below!

NYFW + 50 Shades of Grey!

Between Fashion Week, All Star Weekend and Kanye taking over SoHo, this week in NYC was crazy. Fashion Week by far is my favorite time in the city. Between all of the shows, celebrities, influencers, bloggers and networking that’s taking place… It’s heaven.

This is one of my favorite looks from fashion week. I went to go for a clean and minimal menswear look (since I rarely go full suit) with key pieces to add in my style and elevate the outfit. I wore a navy Calvin Klein suit with black Saint Laurent boots and a knit grey tie from Esquire to flow with the color palate and add texture.

I usually see these type of boots being worn with jeans and rarely with a suit, which is why this is my favorite look from the week. Wearing a black boot (no matter what type of boot/ Chelsea, jodhpur etc.) with a suit will definitely make you stand out from the rest, and make you taller. To achieve this look, all you have to do is make sure you tailor your pants enough to where it fits the boot correctly. It should be slim and lay perfectly on the boot to follow the silhouette.

Protect Your Neck

Today I brought back something I haven’t worn since I was a little kid… the turtleneck.

Yes, the turtleneck is still popular today. You can see them being worn in magazines and in fashion shows all the time. But outside of editorial and shows, I’ve noticed that there is definitely a lack of men rocking one, which made me a bit skeptical. So, I decided to give it a shot and bring it back into my wardrobe.

The thing with turtlenecks is that you can’t be super casual; you have to dress up your outfit (whether it be with a trench coat, overcoat or a blazer etc.) I wore primarily all black to give contrast to the navy sweater and make it the focal point. I paired it with an ASOS overcoat and Saint Laurent boots to give the outfit a modern, street and elevated look.

Turtlenecks have become one of my favorite pieces I own. It adds character to any outfit as long as you style it right. Would you wear one? Let me know in the comments!
