If you have a limited number of suits like me, wearing the
same suit over and over again gets boring very quickly.
It was a process finding a suit to wear to the wedding I’m
attending. Even though the black suit is a staple in any wardrobe, I wanted to
switch it up from the norm. I found this black velvet blazer from Ralph Lauren
and it is the perfect piece to set you apart from the rest of the black suit
crowd. Maybe its just me, but an all velvet suit is tacky, so I broke
up the suit by wearing black tapered pants from Topman, a regular white button
down from Calvin Klein and ditched the tie. Since it is spring, I wore black
velvet slippers from Del Toro to compliment the blazer. The pants were tailored
perfectly to fall correctly on the slippers and give me a clean look overall.
Below are some alternatives to the blazer and slipper. What
do you guys think of a velvet blazer? Would you rock it?
Blazer: Ralph Lauren (Alternative: ASOS)
Shirt: Calvin Klein
