All In The Details

Today I wore a very simple outfit but, what makes it stand out is the details and the way its styled.  To give a run down, I wore an ASOS white t-shirt, black Saint Laurent jeans and black Saint Laurent boots.  I tucked in the white shirt and added a black square belt I picked up from a vintage shop – its similar to the SLP Dylan belt.  ironic.  I cuffed the bottom of my jeans up enough so that it lays right at the top of the boot, to really show off the detailing. I usually put my jeans over but the stitching, straps and buckle are what makes this boot stand out, it deserved to be seen. I added some silver accessories to match the buckle on the belt and the shoes and of course had on my favorite sunglasses.

I have been getting a lot of emails about alternatives to my SLP boots – its more challenging than you think, but I listed some good ones that were not as high priced. If you guys have any good additions, send them in and I'll add them to the list.

Travel Style

I took a break from the city life for a couple of days and went to VA!

I thought this would be a good opportunity to discuss travel style/my travel essentials.  If you’re like me, when you travel you want to be comfortable and have on a good outfit.  (Side Note, comfortable will be used a lot in this post)

I have four criteria for traveling.
1.     Soft T-Shirt.
2.     Sweats/jeans that are the most comfortable for you.
3. Shoes that are comfortable for walking/running to the terminal and
standing around when the flight is delayed.
4. Big sunglasses - just cause.

The key is comfortable pieces that you could literally sleep in if you had to. I wore a vintage Metallica shirt with black-waxed Saint Laurent jeans and Yeezy Boosts. A vintage shirt was perfect because it’s baggy and soft. I wore waxed jeans because I never wear sweatpants and black jeans are my second skin. The Yeezy’s are the most comfortable shoe I own so it was a no brainer. All of the pieces are perfect because it’s a well-put together outfit yet good for running around and dealing with travel.

For my luggage I had a Rimowa suitcase and a Kill Spencer leather backpack. 85% of the time, you’ll always see me with this bag; it holds my life in it – also the perfect travel size.

What are some of your travel essentials? Let me know!

4th of July!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Forth of July weekend!

When I think of how people spend the Forth, I think of BBQ's, hanging around the pool, the beach, in a backyard - very suburban. With this theme, I switched up my usual style and went for a Hamptons look. To me, the Hamptons style is a costal influence yet still elegant and comfortable. With that in mind, I wore a dark blue linen blazer from H&M with a Calvin Klein dress shirt, unbuttoned to give a causal relaxed vibe. For my pants, I went with a skinny cuffed white Jean to show the ankle. I added a small red flower for a pocket square and tied it off with brown oxfords.

This outfit was perfect for the weekend. It was light and comfortable yet still stylish; not to mention the color scheme of red white and blue.

Be safe everyone!
