Take Time

Thank you to my friends at Timex for this beautiful watch. It features a clean and minimal design with a faded black leather band, which works well with my style. The Fairfield is definitely a perfect last minute gift for the holidays!

Wear A Suit Without Being One

A lot of people think that if you're into menswear or wear a suit that you yourself are a 'suit'. *Insert Billy Walsh from Entourage calling E a suit* Wearing a suit doesn't mean you have to be professional and boss like. You can make it causal and have fun while wearing one.

For the suit itself, play around with different fits, colors, patterns and fabrics. For example, wearing tweed or linen, depending on the season. Rock a color that you wouldn't normally throw on. For underneath, you can wear a button down, polo or a t-shirt. I personally like a solid t-shirt or button down. There are a lot of options with the footwear, but it is easy to mess it all up with the wrong one. You can go with a clean running shoe or sneaker like New Balance, Margiela or Common Projects. You can also wear a boot, loafer or derby – just nothing too dressy otherwise it will take away from the casual look.

In the outfit above, I wore a resin-cotton navy suit that has a little bit of a deconstructed fit with a white t-shirt tucked in and a white sneaker for an overall clean look.

Let me know what you guys think! if you have anything else to add drop a comment down below.

Dior Homme Not Dior Homie

I've never been a huge fan of polo’s to be completely honest. It always reminded me of a suburban dad or a preppy frat guy… two things you never want to be. However, this summer I started to get into them more and style it so it doesn’t look like I just stepped out of Kohl’s. The polo’s that I have been rocking this summer are more of a retro-esque feel. They’re called banlon polo's, ribbed trimming and usually a cool color or pattern. (You’ll see these in future posts.)

Today, I just went with an old Dior Homme polo (S/O Hedi.) It doesn’t have the exact same details as banlon polo’s but its Dior Homme. I did a clean and simple all black look with black jeans and leather Saint Laurent boots.

I think this turned into one big Hedi Slimane homage outfit the more I think about it. Either way, let me know what you think of the polo’s! Links to what I’m wearing are down below.

Blanco

The summer is the best time to pull out that all white look. Even though I stay in all black, the 90-degree heat takes its toll on you. Today I rocked a white button down, cut off the sleeves and rolled it up. I couldn’t do the sleeves in the heat. Paired with white denim and brown suede Saint Laurent Wyatt’s for a pop.

Flow

This Men’s fashion week was amazing. Hopefully you guys were able to catch it on my snapchat! (DillonHughes.) I got the chance to see a couple of shows and connect with some amazing people. It was really inspiring to meet people I looked up to style wise, see my friends networking, be put in major publications and boss up with their careers. With all of that aside, I wanted to breakdown what I wore on day 2.

Fashion week is a time where you can do whatever you want. There are no rules. I went outside of my comfort zone and went for a Japanese-influenced look. I wore a Comme des Garçons Homme shirt, Comme des Garçons grey trousers and a pair of thrifted/vintage oxfords. Added on some silver rings, chains and a watch to piece it together. I loved this look because of how flowy the top is and the button details of the trousers.

Surviving the Summer

I’m a fall person. I’ve said it before. I’m not about the summer. I can’t stand the heat and humidity. I daze off and start to think about how many months we have left until I can pull out that Dior overcoat.

It’s hard to survive in the summer. I used to think that the best-dressed people really got their fits off in the fall/winter but one thing I have learned is that it’s actually the opposite. The best style comes from the summer. You have a limited selection to create really good outfits and it forces you to experiment.

As a person who 99% of the time will be seen wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and boots… let me give you some essentials to get by for the summer.

1. Basic Tops
Cop some neutral colors for your every day wear. Something a little heavy but has lightness to it. You don’t want to be caught out in those SoHo streets with sweat stains fam. I’ve been rocking Acne Studios standard O and Jil Sander tees. You can also throw some polo’s in there to change it up.

Solitude

Back on the video grind! Sorry for my absence with these. As I said in my last post, the weather and school has played a big factor in producing these. Now that it is getting warmer I will be posting more.

As you can see from my fits, I wear black jeans 99% of the time. I felt it was time to start rocking denim more now that were going into spring. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of denim but with the right colors and pieces it looks good. Let me know what you think below!

Storm

By this point in the season I thought it would start to become a little warmer but thats definitely not that case. On the positive side, this means I still get to pull out some winter looks.

This outfit was inspired by ZatchStorm, hence the name storm. This guy literally wore Ultra Boosts and a Champion hoodie every day, it was a cozy fit. After I got my pair of Ultras it was all I rocked. So, I’m paying homage with my own twist.

The point of this look was to focus on the shoe. I went with an all black fit and cuffed the jeans to give a cleaner look. It kept me warm during the harsh days, doesn’t take much effort and you still look fly.

Let me know what you think! Videos are coming soon.

When I Come Back Like Jordan...

Whats good everyone! I am back. I know a lot of you are wondering where I have been and why I haven’t been posting any videos recently.

As some of you know, I am a college student. From the first day of this semester I have had a RIDICULOUS amount of homework and papers. It has taken up a lot of the time I use to go out and shoot these videos and posts. The NYC cold hasn’t helped either. Just imagine standing on a rooftop when it is 3 degrees outside for hours and hours trying to shoot the perfect video… it gets rough. But, I’m slowly getting back on the grind to make these posts for you guys. As spring and summer start to approach, I will definitely have more content to give you all. (and a couple of dope projects I have been working on) With that being said, lets get into todays post.

I received a bunch of emails asking about alternatives to outfits and one that’s not extremely expensive. With the outfits I post, it is for inspiration. Take the colors, silhouettes and styles and make it your own. For this outfit, I went with a spring vibe and brought out a denim jacket. Giving it a sharp look, I wore a white button down underneath. I rocked a pair of grey jeans to compliment the colors used and finished it off with brown Saint Laurent boots.

Check what I'm wearing down below.

Black On Black On Black

First post of the New Year!

It’s been extremely cold that past couple of days in NYC so, before it gets to the point where I have to wear a giant parka I pulled out this dope Sandro jacket I got a couple weeks ago.

If you know me, you know I have a love for jackets – especially biker jackets. I had to pick up this jacket when I saw it, black suede with black shearling on the inside… fire. I threw this on with a simple look to make the biker be the main focus. I wore a black tee, tucked into jeans with black leather boots. I added some silver jewelry to compliment the belt.

Let me know what you guys think of this fit! You can check the video to this post here.

(Yes, the video is in a different location... they kicked me out of the last spot. *shakes head*)
